![]() The record and "facts" were and are controlled by a racist police for and district attorneys office.ĭid you know that the gun found in the Jones' home that the police found-Julius' co-defendant told them it would be there. We have too many wrongfully convicted in this country and a good majority of them is just because of their race or (lack of) religion. I don't know enough about the case to say if he's innocent or guilty, but he definitely deserves a retrial if a juror was quoted using the N word. ![]() But anyways, I absolutely believe that race played a big part in this kid's trial. For example, if someone made a mistake, a coworker would say "you're as dumb as a N*****"" Oklahoma and Kansas are the only two places where the N bomb is openly dropped and it blew my mind everytime. I'm a 30 year old white dude, for reference. So I work with the locals and get to know them a little bit. I'm currently in New England and have been here a year. I get sent to a place and help out with the workload there until I get transfered somewhere else. I'm an over the road trucker, but I don't haul cross country. I've worked in quite a few states, Oklahoma and Kansas are literally the two most racist states I've ever spent a decent amount of time in. I have been to Oklahoma quite a few times and I've actually worked there for about half a year. I'm not a lawyer by any stretch of the imagination, but I do listen to a lot of true crime and I'm fairly familiar with our judicial system (not necessarily Oklahoma though). I googled the case, but I still only really know the basic facts. I just got an email from a petition asking me to sign a petition that may help in the execution of Julius Jones. Hey, I'm responding to a comment you made a week ago lol. Couldnt figure out how to change title :/ Watching and reading about the case of Julius Jones makes me question, who here is aware of this case and what are people in your state doing about it? How many Oklahomans are aware that during the tail end of this year, there has been a renewal of executions in your state and, admist the turmoil of this election season, men like Jones will be executed despite evidence leading to inconclusive results in their trials? Are Oklahomans advocating for a fair trial or retrial in these cases? Are they at least looking into the possibility? Here is a link to a timeline of the case: Julius Jones was sentenced to death after being convicted of murder despite not matching the witness' description of the murder he has been on death row for 20 years.
